The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, speaking in the State Duma at the approval of the candidacies of ministers of the new government on May 14, named improving the quality of training of IT specialists in universities as one of the ten priority areas of the department's work.
Maksut Shadayev, Ministry of Digital Development:
- We will solve this problem by attracting specialized IT companies. And this will be a mandatory condition for these companies to maintain their benefits.
A particularly acute shortage of specialized specialists is observed in the field of information security, according to market participants surveyed by RSpectr. According to Alexey Drozd, head of the content writing service information security department at SearchInform,
66% of Russian organizations believe that there is a shortage of information security specialists, and 12% of organizations feel that the personnel shortage is only getting worse
The information security market was undervalued in the past, but is now growing due to factors affecting the entire IT industry: the transition to domestic software, ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure and interest in protecting digital systems, noted Yuri Drachenin, Deputy General Director of Atom Security (SKB Kontur Group).
Yuri Drachenin, Atom Safety:
– There is an acute shortage of qualified specialists in the field of information security at all levels: from experienced experts to beginners.
The situation when a new employee needs to be trained during the process of employment and adaptation is already the norm, complained Olga Mikhailova, head of educational projects at UserGate Academy. But even with this approach, it is difficult to find qualified personnel.
Olga Mikhailova, UserGate:
– That is why we are now actively investing in training specialists who will be able to close the existing deficit both for us and for our partners and customers who use UserGate solutions.
There is a shortage of personnel, but it is becoming somewhat easier to find new candidates, continued Fedor Trifonov, Director of the Department for Development of Information Security Solutions at NOTA KUPOL. In his opinion, most of them are young specialists who do not always meet the full list of requirements at the initial stage, but they are ready to develop and grow.
